Aggies Reign Supreme: Texas A&M Women's Tennis Team Crowned Best in the Lone Star State

In a resounding victory, the Texas A&M women's tennis team has been voted as the best college team in the state of Texas, cementing their status as a powerhouse in the sport. The USTA's Best of Texas Tennis people's choice campaign, now in its third year, saw nearly 100,000 Texans cast their votes across 30 categories, with the Aggies emerging as the clear favorite.

Aggies Soar to New Heights, Capturing National Glory

Dominant National Title Run

The Texas A&M women's tennis team made history this past season, claiming their first-ever national title. Their journey to the top was nothing short of remarkable, as they navigated a gauntlet of formidable opponents, including Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Aggies' dominance was on full display, as they emerged victorious in these six matches by a combined tally of 24-4.Throughout the season, the Aggies continued to cement their status as the premier program in the Lone Star State. They secured their third consecutive SEC regular-season title, finishing the campaign with an impressive 12-1 league record and an overall mark of 28-7.

Individual Accolades Galore

The Aggies' success was not limited to the team level, as several individual players were recognized for their outstanding performances. Mary Stoiana, the nation's top-ranked player, was named the Tournament MVP, while also earning a spot on the All-Tournament singles team. Stoiana was joined on the All-Tournament singles team by her teammates Carson Branstine, Nicole Khirin, and Lucciana Perez.In a testament to the depth and talent of the Aggies' roster, the team swept the All-Tournament Team doubles accolades. Stoiana and Mia Kupres claimed the top court, Branstine and Perez dominated on court two, and Khirin and Jeanette Mireles excelled on court three.The individual accolades continued to pour in, as Mary Stoiana was named the ITA Player of the Year, becoming the first Aggie in program history to achieve this prestigious honor.
